FAQs

How long will my first visit take?
We customize each visit according to the patient’s needs. On average, a first visit takes about an hour and a half. Dr. Parekh will want to discuss your goals and concerns and then inspect your teeth and soft tissues. She will take X-rays or photos to gain an in-depth understanding of your dental health. She will share her plan with you and ensure you are comfortable with our recommendations for follow-up visits.

I simply cannot relax at the dentist’s office. Can you help?
Dental anxiety is a very real condition that affects millions of Americans. If you feel nervous, please let us know prior to your visit. We strive to create a positive experience for every patient, but we can cater your visit if we know about your specific needs. Many patients find relief with a caring, understanding dentist, but others need a little more help relaxing. Ask Dr. Parekh when you visit us for your initial consultation.

I’ve heard that a dentist can help with snoring. Is this true?
Yes! Dr. Parekh can create a custom appliance that clears the airways and prevents snoring. Many people who snore have a condition known as sleep apnea, which means they actually stop breathing during the night. A sleep study will determine the cause of snoring and the appropriate solution.

Are regular checkups really important for people with good oral hygiene?
Regular checkups and hygiene visits are vital for everyone, even those with good at-home hygiene. At your checkup, Dr. Parekh inspects your teeth and gums for signs of problems that you may not notice. 80% of Americans suffer from gum disease, usually mild gingivitis. While gingivitis can be reversed in its early stages, if it progresses to periodontitis, it cannot be cured – only controlled. Even with rigorous at-home hygiene, you cannot remove hardened plaque from below the gum line. Using special tools, your dentist and hygienist can remove plaque, erase surface stains, freshen your breath, and optimize your oral health for the long term.

Amazing Experience!

"Prior to my visit, I had visited three other dentists in Sugar Land/First Colony, and all of them were poor compared to this practice in terms of quality, service, and price. Dr. Parekh has a really gentle chairside manner and it is so refreshing to be with a skilled and sensitive dentist that isn't trying to upsell all of this treatment that you probably don't need..."

Great Dentist!

"Great dentist, great bedside manner. I was looking for a new dentist and started coming here and am glad I did. This office also has a great deal on teeth whitening that I plan to pursue. Welcome to the area Dr. Parekh!!!"
